Anyone else ever find/found themselves attempting to learn a skill like their favorite character (or wishing they could especially for magic users)? Like when I was a kid I read something where a character could pick locks and I remember desperately wanting to learn how to do that. Or practicing sword fighting with sticks in the backyard. Just curious if I'm not the only one who's like I want to be like this character.

What personality traits/quirks are you craving to read in a female lead of a romance novel? What do you feel has been overdone?

"She's maple syrup poured over a perfectly cooked waffle." uh being a pancake person, i refuse to take this as a compliment 😐

Imagine that in a near future a sudden change in the earth's tectonic plates causes sea level to rise rapidly without stopping? That's what happens in Flood. It will take you through 36 years of survival, of different intertwined stories around the world of people trying to reverse an inevitable change.
I must say that what I liked the most was how the stories developed and at what extremes is humanity ready to go to survive. This book depicts the good, the bad and the ugly in a way that makes it too realistic if this were to happen. Apart from that, it mixes science with sociology, diplomacy and the utter feeling of despair that cannot be missing from a science fiction, dystopian story.
If you have read it before or plan to read it, let me know your thoughts on it. I haven't met anyone who has given this book a chance yet, so give it a chance if you can! It won't disappoint!

does anyone else feel this way😭 I am so excited for the launch (and am jealous of everyone who is a beta tester) that I routinely check the page bound IG for updates HAHA. I know that the estimate is late September to early October but I am so excited!! AHHHH

I have been seeing a lot of discourse regarding book cover preferences lately. I wonder if anyone has ever gotten the ick from a book cover? If so, did you still read the book, or was it an immediate no thank youuuu?

Any advice welcome! With the school year starting I had very little time to read, so I ended up pausing all the books I had started. Now I want to continue, but I feel kind of disconnected and like I may have forgotten some plot details. Should I suck it up and continue and see if the memory comes back, or bite the bullet and restart? I'm over 200 pages into the one book (Priory of the Orange Tree) so I'm hesitant to restart, but I don't want to miss out on anything if I've forgotten a key detail! And because I'm indecisive I end up continuing to not read at all, making the problem worse with more and more time passing!!

I loved the writing style on this, it's almost like the author is writing prose. This book made me read as many of ST Gibson's books as I could get my (virtual) hands on

Hi everyone! I'm in my once every few months reading slump it seems, and I thought who better to help me out than the reading community? Does anyone have advice that helps them get out of a slump or a particular book genre they go to? In the past I've tried romcoms and that's helped but I'm a little rom-commed out. Any other suggestions?

I bought Kindle Unlimited for the second time and tried reading only from KU ! 😬 But i couldn't read anything after one book..
The first time i got the free trial, it was ok, i could actually read entirely from KU bc I was out of reading slump and was so excited to anything and everything.. but this time it almost pushed me into a reading slump!!!!! I never thought being a mood reader can be this challenging. Now I cancelled my KU subscription and just started reading something I'm actually interested in!
Have you ever faced anything like this? Any mood readers here? - Tell me about the weirdest thing that happened to you.
