I keep thinking about how this must be for Mordecai, I mean, how many crawlers actually chose him as a manager and didn't make it past level 4? How jarring it must all be, to get to know people again and again and again, just for them to die in cruel ways. To try to the best of your ability to really help them, put your all into it, just so you can postpone their deaths for 2 days.
And then this man, who has probably learnt the skill of shutting people out over decades of death, who went through years and years of watching people suffer, looks at Carl and Donut and cannot help but give them his all again. God I love Mordecai
