Post from the Thunderhead (Arc of a Scythe, #2) forum
I'll be jumping into this today after finishing book 1 yesterday. It was a 4 star read. Is this one better? What, in yall opinion, is the strongest book in the series?

I don't know... I was kind of just expecting... more? It's not a bad story by any means, but everyone shouting from the rooftops how amazing this book is have let me down once again. I also didn't like much the writing; feels like, in my opinion, there is a lack of descriptions, particularly wifh characters. I only find out later, after I've already constructed a mental image of them, that they look different than I thought. Or, there's just... no description? Maybe this is intentional by the author, but I'm not a fan. This is also the same with most settings. Not all, but most, lack descriptions. I feel like that leaves a bit of a disconnect; instead of having a movie in my head, I'm just reading words on a page.
