A thorough history about one of the most functionally demanding parts of our clothing items.
Not only does this walk through the beginning to design iterations over the centuries, but it also talks about the history of how pockets were a piece of the harm placed on marginalized communities.

Warm. Funny. Reflective.
A light breezy story during some of the best seasons of small town life and their festivals. The characters were reflective throughout about their motivations and what may be stopping them from moving forward which was a nice grounding touch. Overall, a very relaxing and charming read.

I love discussions of what would really happen in a small town versus what wouldn’t, and lets be honest part of the charm of small towns is that they are quirky and weird and anything could happen because they contain different people and opinions.
However, a small town full of young single entrepreneurs? Wild
I live in a small town that has an older demographic, so this is mind boggling. We are slowly getting younger business owners, but the demographics of Dream Harbor is so funny to me even as a great multi book plot devise.

Don’t let Nana see you doing that,’ he muttered. Noah grinned. ‘Estelle loves me.’ ‘She loves her new countertops more.’
From when Jeanie first met Estelle, I knew she was my kind of lady. Now I definitely feel like I would love a book centered around her. It could be so fun with parallels to the grandparents first dating to modern day marriage and the things in between!

“Life is so short, and tasting foods of all kinds brings me such joy that I could never be so dogmatic.”
This hit me! I agree, I love lots of dishes whether it’s vegan, vegetarian, meat, fish, or something else and they can all bring me so much joy that it’s amazing to rotate. However, as in this tale I totally understand all of those choices on food especially for dietary needs. I will always miss when I was able to eat nuts.

The entire story of Chicago O’Hare is too relatable as someone that also has had to run back and forth through the place due to changing gates and circumstances.

Community. Nature. Giving.
A fantastic perspective towards appreciating nature’s gifts and reflecting that into a gift economy.

“A wooly knit hat that you purchase at the store will keep you warm regardless of its origin, but if it was hand knit by your favorite Auntie then you are in relationship to that thing in a very different way.”
