I loved how the book felt like a good friend telling his many stories over a camp fire. I personally bought this while staying at my own cabin in the woods, and I’ll say that that choice made me feel much more connected to the story of the book! It was a bit dragging the details in some parts, but it felt personal to the reader. I also felt like I understood the sentimentality of the imperfections and how they tell a story that means more than perfection.
I’d totally recommend it if you also have a cabin or a little house you love, or if you feel like you’re looking for something bigger in life!

Hi! I’m in need of some books that feel warm and sugary sweet to read while I have a lot of free time while traveling. Anything that just makes you feel good and not stressed while reading it is perfect for me :)

first i used goodreads. it was the only one i knew and i quickly got put off. also didn’t want to feed into amazon.
then i googled, and storygraph was recommended. i love the stats… but the UI is horrendous. really is. it’s so ugly too.
then reddit recommended fable. i liked it! i didn’t like that there was no desktop mode, and some stuff was missing for me. liked the stats, but not easy to follow, some things behind paywall. i do like the reading streak though, and it is such a pretty app.
but then a friend recommended pagebound. i love it so much! indie run by two women, anti-AI? gorgeous, easy to use! i especially love the forums, the quests and the points. i’m a gamer so this feels at home for me lol. love the desktop mode if i fancied going on my macbook. so i deleted fable!
thank you for making this happen. i feel at home here.
p.s. i’d love a reading streak thing and some sort of stats on here.
