Sori my poor meow meow...my baby my little baby who hurt so much but treats people with nothing but kindness forgive me for not being able to do more..i tried my best i really did..
Anyway, I really enjoyed this one, a lot more than I did the first book in the series. I found Sori to be a more compelling character than either Jenny or Jaewoo (though I did like those two enough), like that is my sadgirl blorbo with undiagnosed anxiety and OCD. She's my girl fr.
The book has some of the pitfalls of an unrealistic kpop industry that will probably happen with any kpop YA (and I don't blame Oh because not everything has to be a thinkpiece on the industry) but it feels very grounded in Sori's feelings. I wish that Oh had twisted the knife a little more—a lot of the time I felt like if we had gotten just a little deeper into her emotions, such as giving up her old dream of becoming an idol, we could have gotten really visceral and moving emotional beats. Her relationship with Nathaniel was really sweet, and I found the obstacles in the way of their relationship to be more interesting and nuanced compared to Jenny and Jaewoo's (which were pretty typical/cliche of the genre). Overall a really fun read.

It's a cute book! It was a sweet, fun, and quick read, which is exactly what I wanted from it. I think that it avoids some of the common pitfalls of other kpop-centric YA, and I found all of the characters likable enough, though I found Jaewoo to be pretty underdeveloped (but fairly likable despite it). I honestly only read this because I wanted to read ASAP (which I ended up enjoying a lot more), but it was fun anyway.

hey y'all! I'm currently reading the 4th book in the Trials of Apollo series and the 3rd book was so painful It took me a month to finish and i couldn't read anything elas along with that one. I'm looking for recommendations of cute, fun, spicy romance books that i can read along with "The tyrant's tomb" so i won't fall into a reading slump again. I've read all books by ali hazelwood, love Emily Henry and love sapphic books. If anyone has a rec they think i might enjoy, PLEASE help! ✨❤️ *It can also be a romantasy or a cozy book

Physical book readers - I was chatting with some bookish friends and we were talking about managing shelf space.
Are you the type of reader to keep all your books, or do you unhaul? If you unhaul, do you do it as you read or do you do it maybe once a season?
How else do you manage your space?

Hi! What does everyone like to drink while they're reading? I love tea, coffee and juice, but tend to opt for tea most times.
Some of my favorite teas are cinnamon spice, thai, chai, lavender mint, orange and lemon, strawberry mint, cucumber mint, and blackberry sage.
BUT I need more exotic tea options, so I'd love to learn what everyone else finds enjoyable 🤗.
Feel free to share non-tea options too, if you'd like!
