this is a love story of two bisexuals bisexualling their way through bisexual europe and eventually back to each other and it was such a good read that i could kiss kit, theo and casey mcquiston all on the mouth (all at once? probably).

there were a few tropes used which i would normally hate in other romance books (miscommunication, second chance) but it was written so well here that i wasn’t even mad at all. also, this book keeps making me hungry i need to find the next available european food tour and book it immediately!!

so here is where i admit that i applied for an internship at J&J as a pharmacy student. i completed the interview and my sister asked me “aren’t they the asbestos company?” i knew NOTHING about it so i did a quick search on the baby powder crimes and got shocked. anyway, i didnt pass the interview (hah! good for me!) and here i am a couple of years later even more shocked that the asbestos saga was just the tip of the iceberg.

Every drugs has risks. The real danger comes when profit is the corresponding benefit.

i really liked how the above quote was used in this book. drugs aren’t perfect, and every one of them is toxic in a certain way. for a drug company to not even acknowledge this fact and hide it from the FDA and public is diabolical. Gardiner Harris did a fantastic job writing and narrating this book. his deep dive into J&J’s crimes was very entertaining and has left me stunned after every chapter. this book has reinforced my belief that sales and marketing in private pharma companies are most of the time a little evil. i’ll be staying in public healthcare tyvm!
