The earlier post about page limits (I can’t remember who posted it!) made me realize something very funny about myself: I would rather read one 1000 page book than a 3 book series that adds up to 1000 pages.
If the subject matter was within the realm of what I find interesting, there is a 10% (maybe) chance I would read the whole trilogy but like a 100% chance I would read the whole book.
And I wonder if this means we can map everyone onto two axes: long and short (vis-à-vis book length) and series vs one-off.
Tag yourself, I’m long one-off (calling this quadrant The Tolstoys). First person to claim each quadrant gets to name it 😏

i wanna know who uses the plan feature on PB (why or why not?) and if you do, do you see yourself actually finishing your books that are on the plan or no?!
currently trying to tackle my physical tbr… that holds over 78 books before my birthday in late august(so i can go on a book shopping spree)! - my friends & boyfriend recommended that i use the plan feature to help with the daunting task. so i mentally organized my books by summer reads vs non summer reads & have owned for a long time vs not. i JUST started using the plan feature this past month, as i just got back into reading after leaving a job that took a lot of my personal time.
here’s how july looked like(very proud of myself as i actually started getting back in the swing of reading around the middle of the month:
(all of these books are on my physical shelf) read, but not on my plan: twisted love (audiobook) caraval (tandem) the lonely hearts book club (audiobook) the deal (finished from april)
read & on my plan: two old men and a baby (physical) harry potter and the chamber of secrets (audiobook) twisted games (audiobook)
currently reading from plan: what the river knows (physical) the eyes are the best part (audiobook)
haven’t read but on plan: wings of starlight no matter what
what do yalls stats look like; when it comes to the PB plan?!🤭 i’m sooo curious!

what the fuck did i just read? (jk i know)
i had so much fun with this book, at no point did i know what was going to happen, at no point did i know who to suspect. the emphasis on showing not telling was real, Avachat did such a good job with peppering the clues to the killer’s identity throughout the novel. the characters were all so well written, the time jumps weren’t crazy and provided just enough information. i have nothing bad to say.

Table for One is about life and loss. Willow’s experiences are nothing special but very real when she goes through a breakup after a long relationship, her friends get distant due to their own relationships, and she starts having a fixation on an internet celebrity.
It won’t be the most memorable book and the messages in this book are nothing life-changing but I can see it having an impact for someone experiencing loss and uncertainty in their life.
