You know I always fantasized about being in a court and having royal duties but this passage of all that Fitz is learning, as someone who's not even acknowledged as royal, sounds exhausting. I think I'd rather be the queen's lady in waiting and get all the hot goss ๐

I'm just glad my understanding of the politics is as good as Fitz's because between the lineage and the writer's prose, I'm a liiiiiiiiiittle confused.

Theyโre bound by flame, united by flight. These books all have dragon riders as part of the plot. Only the first of a series will appear.

Can someone explain what it means when the main character says he repelled someone? I'm imagining this 6 year old boy simply pushing these grown adults but I feel like that mental image is wrong ๐

The setting in this book was gorgeous. Everything about the world is so whimsical and somewhat nostalgic.
The romance though was a little weird for me. They fall in love with each other within a day? Despite their modes of transportation were literally puddles and rumors, them falling so fast for each other felt a little too unrealistic. Also, I'm sorry, but I'm team Haruto all the way ๐
Another element that threw me off was the info dump in certain scenes.
However, all that said, I still enjoyed the book!
