Has anyone else seen this article yet? 🔗‘The Everlasting’ Series Adaptation in the Works at Netflix
Personally, I love this book. Like, an unreasonable amount. So the idea of an on-screen adaptation makes me super duper nervous!! Casting, narrative, themes, there's so many places it could go astray! It does make me happy that it got this kind of attention at all though.
It's not been ordered to series yet so it could fizzle out (as so many projects have), but what are ya'll's thoughts?

I have been told by so many people that I would love this book. Almost every time I mention The Everlasting and how its a 5 star read for me, this book would come up.
I have come to realize people don't know why I like books, because I am 31% in and I just don't care about this at all.
If you are a vibe reader, then its a interesting medieval mythic setting with knights and seer women who dress in flowing white and always cover their eyes. I feel like the Amazon could make a decent series out of, because it so visual based (I swear I see a tiktok or ig reel every week of someone dressing up as her).
But the ornate prose mixed with modern speech, a so far bland romance, predictable plot, and stereotypical characters is weighing heavy. Its not bad, but also not standout good.
Maybe things will turn around, but right now I am just coming to terms with how little my friends know me.

Hi everyone, I am new to this site but have been an avid review writer on Goodreads since 5ish years. I first started at 16 in 2021 and am 21 now. Back then I would be able to write very long, decent reviews easily but since the past few years I have been struggling to write good reviews or even offer any thoughts of substance. I am not sure why, if anything I have been reading less than before.
Would love suggestions/tips from those who write reviews! Feel free to leave your reviews below as well, i love reading them. :)
Edited to add: Also strangely i don't think this isn't to do with my writing ability in general cuz I have published research and lots of other writing related stuff irl..
