As someone who is far too obsessed with Divine Rivals, I can’t express how good it felt to be back in that realm. Rebecca delivered a whole new story while keeping all of the things I loved most about the other duology. Though this is 600 years before Divine Rivals, I was still able to make connections and immediately feel immersed into the world. It provided new perspectives of gods I loved or hated and gave me so much to work through mentally.
The romance was tragic and beautiful, though still had some YA elements to it that someone’s pulled me out of the moment.
Overall, this is a book I would highly recommend. Before or after Divine Rivals.

Hold up, this was published in Paris two years during the German occupation? Camus was part of the resistance but also managed to get this published?!?!

How is it that someone can ride such a fine line between being a bad person and just an "okay" person? The character in this book definitely leans more towards "bad" in my eyes but all of his actions are put under an interesting lens that paints him as simply indifferent.
I found the perspectives interesting and the main character totally unlikeable. But somehow that equates to me enjoying this read haha

This is my first Rebecca Ross book, and so far I’m enjoying the writing style and the audiobook narrator
