yall. does anyone else have a hard time remembering the plot or the characters you’ve read about? i will genuinely be so into a book but after like 3 days i have a hard time recalling key details or plot points. this was not an issue when i was a kid. i could recall small details from books like The Hunger Games or Harry Potter (ik ik 😩) long after reading them. i think it’s from the amount of media i consume / my phone usage. i need to sit outside in silence for like 48 hours.

i usually hate the "super sad MC with traumatic past and shitty parents falls in love with hot chill normal guy who Fixes Them" trope but sage was such a cutie that i actually enjoyed this one a lot. size difference + "pretty baby" is gonna do it for me everytime.
the actual plot was kind of a nothingburger and the smut to comfort ratio is really putting the come into hurt/comfort, but i read for the characters more than anything else so i enjoyed it!

i loveddd the start of this book. i thought it was gonna be an instant 5 star read. lucas and colt were funny and i was loving their banter and flirting.
unfortunately it all kinda dragged downhill as soon as their first meeting ended. i don't love long-distance relationships and i definitely don't love military men, and the whole military aspect played a much much bigger role in the plot than i expected. there were so few scenes with lucas and colt in the same room that it was more like the book was Telling me who colt was rather than showing it.
my final complaint is that i personally hate when the ending to a book is less of an ending and more of a teaser for the sequel. especially because poly romance novels tend to be very hit-or-miss for me and i fear this one is looking like a miss.
