I was really excited to read this book, especially cuz I'm a sucker for fake dating, but I found it underwhelming. I wasn't a big fan of the writing style and the characters and their relationship were a bit shallow. They basically just had physical attraction going but then all of a sudden they were soulmates, "the one", utterly in love - there was a gap for me there. The plot itself wasn't that engaging, the subplots didn't add anything, and the ending was very abrupt. (Also wanna point out that the German sentence somewhere in the first half contained some errors, whether on purpose or just faulty translation idk). It's very astrology heavy, which didn't bother me while reading though some of the words for that could've been used to develop the plot more instead. The fake dating kind of worked, but at times I wondered what it was even there for, the trope has a lot more potential that wasn't used. Like it was cute sometimes but overall it just wasn't for me.

Dramatic battles, tense political intrigue, unique world building...and is that maybe some romance I'm sensing? These books are not Romantasy but focus primarily on the SFF elements. Romance is a subplot and may not appear until later in the series, but when it does, you won't be disappointed.
