I am happy to say that the sequel outdid the first book in the series!

Sunsplitter was fun, engaging, emotional, and tense, all at just the right moments to maximise impact. The pacing was balanced—not too fast, not too slow—enough to let you immerse yourself back into the Planeverse.

Fi and Antal face new difficulties, some arising from their innate differences, but more from external challenges posed by the immortal society. They must rise above these obstacles in order to ensure their HEA.

While you might think this doesn't make for an interesting plot—after all, our couple ended up together, so there isn't much left to further their relationship—you would be dearly mistaken. MacLean shows us that just ending up together isn't the end of a story, but the start of a new one that needs perpetual nourishment to flourish. We see this happen on the page, with our main cast going far beyond to support one another.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who craves a well-written, thrilling romantasy adventure.

I enjoyed Sea of Charms more than the previous two novels!

I particularly liked how it tied together the previous two stories and also offered some hints about the next book.

But more than anything, I loved the found family Marin created for herself. It was truly touching reading about her process of accepting her past and healing. Her companions provided both emotional depth and a dash of humor when things grew intense.

I feel like Sea of Charms is the best book of the three!

I must also give praise to the voice actor, who did an amazing job bringing uniqueness to all the individual characters.
