So I went into this knowing it was most people’s least favorite book in the Game Changer series. Honestly? I see it. It’s very very short, not nearly as smutty as some of the other books, and both characters have very big flaws that can be hard to get over (looking at you Fabian). That being said, none of that took away any of my enjoyment for this book. Something about Reid’s writing really captures me, and it makes it so damn hard to put her books down. Ryan is the representation I wanted and needed for people who are clinically anxious and awkward with sex. Fabian being an unapologetically bipoc queer person is a breath of fresh air considering most of the other characters in the series are masculine white men. Their dynamic is so interesting to me! Fabian did bother me a bit towards the last act, his attitude became a bit unlikeable, but I eventually came around to it. It was a nice reminder that everyone has flaws, and even those flaws don’t make someone unworthy of being loved. This book definitely has its issues, and as of right now it’s for sure the weakest in the series (reading Common Goal next!), however, I don’t think it’s a bad book at all and fits perfectly into the world of Game Changer. Ryan and Fabian have probably the most unique relationship and I hope they make an appearance in Unrivaled!
