whew! what a book to read after getting back into reading after a long time. i'll admit, the dense narrative and eloquent writing is intimidating and i need to have the dictionary on hand a lot, but im so fascinated by this world Chambers has crafted, i wanna keep going and see where Dex's journey takes them. god what i would give to see a visual representation of all these cities and communities they've visited, particularly Little Creek and the Woodlands!

okay. i'm locking in and i WILL finish this book!

it's kinda crazy how meta this book is in context of my life. i found it in high school and didn't rly understand it, then i reread it as an adult during a bad mental health crisis so i admit this book hit different, especially with how rough Truant's mental state gets to.

i feel like this is book is like my own Zampano essay that Truant can't ignore. it's just always been a constant in my bookshelf & the back of my mind but i never finished it because of life stuff. i'm finally ready to dive deep in this book and hopefully see it all the way through!
