I scored this lower than I thought I would, but purely from an understanding perspective. I this k it’s ones that needs a second read, to pick up on things that go over your head the first time. There is no doubt it continued my “man hater” perspective (and I’ll die on that hill despite being married to a man) but also I feel some of the flow has been lost in the translation. I look forward to reading it again someday time next year and also reading more of Hans works.

Well that was a hard read, and not because the book was bad but because it really bared the horrors of judgement we have in our society.
We judge others, ourselves and choices.
The first part continued my opinion of being a self proclaimed man hater, the second disgusted me, the third just made me sad for women and the way we treat ourselves.
I don’t think I I fully understood all of this book, and I will definitely read it again someday; but it felt like a life cycle, a chance to look inwards and be kinder to ourselves.

A lot of people have told me they felt bogged down by the prose in this book. I honestly have found it so lyrical and fluid. Truly each chapter has carried for me
