The ending was a little disappointing but unsurprising I think.

More than anything, I actually feel bad for all of the men? đŸ«Ł

But it was a good ride and the writing was exquisite.

Ugh poor Korede! Love her dry humor but really dislike her Mum and Ayoola. I also am curious how her father passed away
not like it’s a great loss for the family

“But there is a subtle pain the conquered feel. Our old language is nearly lost. Our old ways. Even when we try to explain a vision of ourselves to one another—in our poetry, our song, our theater masks—we do so in opposition to you, or by looking to the past. As if we have no future. Parijadvipa has reshaped us. It is not a conversation, but a rewriting.” Ohhhh. Oh boy. Ugh. Culture always being defined by opposition to the oppressor than than wholly itself. Oh god.

i adore rachel barr’s social media content and appreciate this book’s actionable steps that are backed by neuroscience research. i appreciate the chapter summaries at the end that can serve as a reference point. this was a good read, and it was easy to follow.
