This book reads as a personal diary of a 18- 21 year old woman. It’s so intimate and raw. And very much relatable. The first story is about a woman who is literally the other woman who obsesses over a guy she hooked up with, even though the guy was in a relationship and ended up getting married. It was sad to see how male centered this girls life was. And at every opportunity she was thinking about him which I guess is apart of loving someone. I kept hoping that she would move on but when you really love someone and the idea of them, it never really goes away.

I thought the other short stories were good too, each of them depicting similar themes. The last one was very sad and unsettling, and how this poor girl didn’t get the justice she deserved over a stupid guy.

wow…..This books was SOOOOOOO good. I didn’t have much context coming into the book and you couldn’t have prepared me for the last 20 pages. I’ve never read anything like this, AND ITS A DEBUT. The author did such a good job and creating Lillian and really understanding who Lillian is and what her perspective is with different aspects of life (work, friendship, lovers, family, etc). This woman is the literal definition of a narcissist and being inside her head was INSANE. The book will have you gripped from literally the first sentence. There were so many funny lines and you were sorta rooting for Lillian, but as the story goes on you see that she is very much an unreliable narrator and a VERY shitty person who also uses alcohol has a crutch.Lillian is very much NOT a good person.

It was just insane seeing how she kept referring to Henry and her boyfriend but as the pyschologist pointed out, i don’t see very much mourning actually happening. And it was more of Lillian being pissed that she wasn’t getting all the attention and Nora was instead.
