Wow wow wow. Starting 2026 with an AMAZING religious horror book. I absolutely enjoyed all 3 POVs and how drastically each women lived their life but also how they were connected. The ending did feel a bit rushed, I wish there was an epilogue or something but the last page truly struck my heart. And I will always think of this book. dark sisters is the definition of female rage, and the constant female repression, generation trauma, and being controlled through religion. I went into this book blind so I was shocked by the amount of religious talk in the book and how it was such a key factor as to how each women loved their life and how it you stray away from the ideal path, then you are no longer morally good. The author did an amazing job at capturing the idea of using religion as a cage, that you must not stray away and must be obedient.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say later once my thoughts marinated but damn.
