Meh didn’t love this, found the main character Ted wildly annoying, I almost DNF’d because I was sooo sick of him calling a tumour “the octopus” (I never wanna see those words again), especially when he would get annoyed at others, such as a vet questioning him.
It also randomly got crazy when he was out at sea and fighting the octopus, didn’t enjoy that either. I understand this is supposed to be a portrayal of grief but he just annoyed me so much.

I had fun reading this, jumping in and out of books and solving a mystery but at times I found it a little too jumpy, hard to catch up to, and I didn’t enjoy the romance. Definitely falls a little too young adult for me, I can imagine I would’ve loved it when I was 12 but too much felt jolty and off for me now. Don’t feel attached to the characters much at all but overall the premise is interesting and entertaining for a short read.

A very raw and honest recount of a marriage breakdown that I felt really didn’t shy away from letting the reader in to what Belle was thinking through every stage.
Otherwise not much to write home about, a lot of privilege, an awful man who doesn’t even want to know his kids, so much money and no answers. Genuinely am interested as to why James did decide to leave but that’s Belle’s everyday life which sucks.
Not upset that I read this but definitely don’t understand the hype and I certainly won’t be itching to recommend to anyone.

Maybe read this at the wrong time, maybe something I was never going to be really into, but just could not once truly get my mind in this book which is super frustrating. I liked it but it just didn’t grab me so I was never properly invested, there was definitely some scenes between characters that I loved but overall, not many thoughts sadly.
I think I was quite lost at the beginning and not drawn to pick this up but I definitely became more attached to the characters at the end, I like the way they all complement each other and have such individual thoughts and personalities. I think the second book will be so nice because they will be more of a team because they like eachother, rather than just for the money.

Woah we got flooded with character developments in this one. Absolutely perfect, will wallow until Vol 9. I dream of having a place like Stonecrop and will be so excited for future June volumes. The alchemy found family is perfect to me, I could cry every book, love these characters SO MUCH.
