This was an absolute gut punch š I needed a good cry so decided to pick this one up and it delivered. I shed a tear about 25% in and it continued to get worse. š« Kristin Hannah never fails to deliver a devastating story.
The only reason this wasnāt quite a 5 star is due to the sisterās dynamic. I didnāt love them during the first 50% or so of the book. The miscommunication was a bit much but they grew on me by the end. š

Loving rereading this series. So nostalgic and a lot of funny dialogue I didnāt pay much attention to as a kid. Very entertaining reading this with a new perspective. Loved all the characters that are introduced in this one, excited to continue reading through the series and rewatching the movies as I go!

Ugh, the dreaded cliff hanger š liked this a little less than the first book due to the pacingā¦. But the world-building continues to peak my interest and loved the trials that were introduced in this one. The ending has me distressed, will be hopping into the last book asap!

Okay, can already tell this is going to be a 5 star read for me, calling it now. Finding myself extremely immersed and loving the writing style.

Enjoyed this one a little more than the first. Just a really fun and fast-paced read! I liked the flashbacks and seeing how things played out between Isla & Grim before the centennial. The ending has me itching to continue the series!

This felt unnecessary. The writing felt immature compared to the first book and the story didnāt progress much. Felt very repetitive and the kids seemed to mature too quickly from the previous book. I adored the first book (a 5 star read for me), but this just fell flat imo.
Still loved the kids and that was really the only thing that kept me going with this one.
