I have been putting this book off for a little while because I enjoyed six of crows so much and I donāt want it to be over. But Iām finally ready and omg Iām so excited.

The framing of this story is so interesting, and makes me second guess a lot. Every time the narrator talks about her revulsion or disgust or uncertainty it is mixed with awe, and tenderness and interest. The absolute delight with which she describes playing with and braiding Carmillaās hair feels contradictory to all the uncertainty the narrator describes. I canāt help but question how much of the fear came later, and is being inserted by the woman 10 years later who feels shame over what occurred.
