I WISH I had liked this bc the premise was so quirky and fun, but unfortunately I felt the romance was really underdeveloped and didn't show much progression. the characters were pretty flat, and I never really felt their chemistry. I feel like this could have been a really fun read if it had leaned into the absurdism of it all as a rom-com and almost satire of popular booktok books

this novel is convincing me even more that 2nd person POV is such a powerful literary tool, it just works so perfectly with Constasta addressing him so boldly

I think the audiobook narrator for Parisa is ruining her character for me 😅😭 I like her so much more when she’s in other characters chapters 😅

still liking so far but if you say the word 'sojourner' one more time..... I had a running 'sojourner' tally last night but I forgot what number I was on lol, I think it's at least 6 by now.... not a big deal just bugging me now that I noticed it lol (sorry in advance to anyone I infect with this problem)

Or what are some of your chaotic ways to bookmark?
I've recently found small joys in using cute Pokemon cards as my bookmarks! I dabble in collecting One Piece cards but not Pokemon so I'm not as attached but still love them. I got a bunch of bulk cards from my brother so I've just been slotting them in everywhere that I've lost track who's in where. I think I like the idea that I have cute little Pokemon living in my books now.

It feels almost as if I'm one of the few (which is fine, OBVIOUSLY, I don't judge that) who likes Alice a lot and can relate to her? I do think it helps that I am on an equal path, with the goal of getting my PhD in the long run, but I find her extremely human in how flawed she is, but that she also knows she is, and that ... I don't know. So far, I feel she is trying her best in a world that wants to see most people fail.

I started this because it was such an unserious premise, I though it would be a self-aware funny read, but unfortunately it is taking itself a little too seriously so far
