Saya sempat berhenti membaca buku ini krn tidak kuat menahan tangis. Jika boleh dikata, jujur saja saya iri dengan sosok Sri Ningsih. Bagaimana cara beliau memiliki ketabahan hati yang luar biasa besarnya? Bagaimana beliau bisa menjadi wanita yang sangat cerdas namun begitu sederhana? Bagaimana pahitnya ketika beliau memutuskan untuk berdamai dengan semuanya? Namun hidup penuh iri dengki tidak akan bisa membuat saya bahagia. Mengapa menghabiskan waktu untuk memupuk rasa cemburu dan dendam jika kita dapat menabur kebaikan kepada apa yang tersisa? Sri Ningsih memilih untuk berbuat baik sepanjang hidupnya. Ia dapat menemukan keluarga kemanapun ia melangkah, sesuatu yang luput darinya pada masa kanak-kanak. Tere Liye menghadirkan kisah ini agar kita sadar: selalu ada pilihan untuk menjadi baik, bahkan ketika dunia tidak bersikap adil. Ia mengingatkan bahwa menjadi sederhana bukan berarti tidak cerdas, dan menjadi baik bukan berarti lemah. Dalam diam, diceritakannya tentang siapa kita ingin menjadi saat hidup mempertemukan kita dengan kehilangan, harapan, dan kesempatan kedua. Terima kasih untuk kesempatan mengenalmu, itu adalah salah satu anugerah terbesar dalam hidupku. Aku tidak akan menangis karena sesuatu telah berakhir, tapi aku akan tersenyum karena sesuatu itu pernah terjadi.

It's 2 am rn and I can't sleep bcs HOLY SHITTT what did I just read??? It started off slow with the Wright couple driving through the snowstorm to reach the chapel where they'd spend the weekend away. The eeriness I felt from the first page made me quite uneasy about what could've happened to them, in the middle of nowhere, just the two of them. Unless they're not really alone in the first place? I can't guess what kind of twist I might get bcs it's pretty fast-paced and THE TENSION AND PLOT TWIST IS IMMACULATE. MY JAW DROPPED TO THE MARIANA TRENCH. But yea there are plot holes here and there and somewhat left details that could've been answered in the book. But it didn't ruin my enjoyment, tho. I still get the chills, and reading this is thrilling. I like the narrations and all of the POVs. I don't have any problems with the way the letters are written bcs I almost always (pun intended) write like that to make some sort of yearly entries for myself. UGH the characters are messed up, but I guess that makes them humane. People change, and in marriage, they would just compromise with each other. idk tho I'm not married yet 😭

I delved into this book without even reading the blurb, so the supernatural aspect kind of caught me off guard 🤡. It’s like I’m on a ride from thriller to horror, then back to psychological thriller because of THE TWIST. Unless the character pointed it out, I wouldn’t have figured out that such a twisted and manipulative person existed. I’m sorry, but I was almost convinced that all of this was the effect of Mallory’s guilt and paranoia, combined with memory relapses. 50/50 for the ending, tho. But I think it’s what’s best for them.

Another brilliant work by Holly Jackson, filled with twists and turns regarding the disappearance of Jamie Reynolds, Connor’s brother. This time, Pip used her podcast, which previously aired the investigation of Andie Bell’s case, to capture the public’s attention in order to find Jamie. However, it had its own advantages and disadvantages. Each person had their own perspective on this case, and whether or not that perspective is gullible depends on the individual, making good or evil truly subjective. So, how could one search for justice? Can justice still be justice if it costs someone their peace of mind? And now I feel really bad for Pip. It’s like she’s still traumatized from what happened in AGGGTM, and now she has to do it again, for the sake of her friend. The weight of her previous investigation lingers, and I see her grapple with the emotional toll of being thrust into danger once again. Her character feels more mature, but also more conflicted. Then, in the end of the book, she’s traumatized again. My Shayla 😭😭 Regardless of that, as usual, I love her interactions with Ravi as partners in crime. SHDNSKSJBFSKJBFSAKJ AAAAAAAAAAAAA omg I wanna cry for a character that I don’t even like in the first place but ☹️ ☹️ I can’t imagine living a life like them, being hyper aware and not having anyone trustworthy enough to be called ’friend’ for years cuz that’s too sad. Yeah, I think that’s all.

9 drawings, 1 story that tied them all together. I’ve never anticipated that the plot is much more interwoven (I thought it was a collection of short stories) Uketsu used the third person pov and change them at some points along the story in order for us to follow the characters logic. And I think that’s pretty much fun bcs it’s as if we’ve been handed the evidences and all we have to do is playing detective and connecting all the dots. Definitely be one of my best reads!

binge read this for 4 hours. such a page turner ngl what a complex family issues we got here and tbh reading this sent shivers down my spine (maybe its just my overly dramatic ass) and now im kinda afraid to go to the toilet alone HAHHAHAHSH for the mystery lovers babes or whatever out there ur gonna love this 💋🔪
