  • Anime Fan Book Recs pls

Okay I’m looking for books that feel like Apothecary Diaries specifically - political intrigue in palatial settings, Asia, opulence, diplomacy, romance as an undercurrent but without it being like the whole thing! Would also love some slice of life fantasy à la Frieren with ideally minimal romance and more just adventure vibes 🙂‍↕️

I always see/hear chatter about Sally Rooney and how good her books are. I’m looking to find out for myself, so where do I start?
