A well told story by Ann Rule. I appreciated the lengths she took to find out about the young women and girls who were hurt by Gary Ridgway. It was long, but how could she has further condensed these crimes?

Hi, I hope everyone’s having a good morning!
As we are into the second half of 2026... what are the anticipated new books that you’re super excited about/preordered/placing holds at the library etc.?
Here are two of mine I’ll share: I just started (and received my preorder of) Never Whistler at Night: Back for Blood edited by Shane Hawk and Theodore C Van Alst Jr which I was excited to see coming out and Kimberley Lemming’s sequel to I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped In a RomCom which I read earlier this year. That one I haven’t gotten to yet but is titled I Punched an Alien and Now We’re In Couples Therapy

My feelings towards King’s works published in the last 10-15 years is largely MEH. Perhaps it’s product of aging — and by that I mean him aging, not me. So many of these books are meandering and wistful. They pack less of a punch than they used to. Revival falls right into that. Just a long drawn out story of a kid growing up into an adult. The premise of this, a priest turned carnie magician turned revival preacher had so much potential! Maybe this in a short story format would have worked better.

I think I just don’t like these books very much. For some reason I (slowly) powered through the series. And for what? I don’t know! The clinical way they’re told makes me disengage. I feel like I’d need to read them 10 times to understand everything that was going on. Layers on layers.
