Honestly: I loved this. I think it helped that I had already read a book by S.A. Cosby while waiting on the hold list for this one, so I knew about the first person shooter video game I was getting myself into. And I love me some unlikeable main characters, especially ones that get to develop as much as Ike and Buddy Lee did by the end. Is it realistic? Well, no, but do I enjoy living in a fantasy world where bigoted men can improve their worldview? Hell yeah! Overall, very cathartic for this gay Virginian.

With the end of May fast approaching (how?!), it’s time for the monthly roundup post! What was everyone’s favorite May reads? What are you most looking forward to read in June?
I had a really good reading month in May. My favorite reads were Caliban’s War and This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me with runner-ups being Good People and Crying in H Mart. In June, I’m looking forward to The Raven Scholar and Abaddon’s Gate!
