I am so intrigued with the second plot of the book of Dorian and Conner! I love how these books keep you guessing on what really happened 22 years ago!

This book has been so hard to get through with the back & forth between before Leah left and after. It jumps around and not even in a smooth transition. It took me a week to get to 65% and that’s because I finally started letting my Alexa read it to me instead of reading it on my kindle 🫠

this one was not for me. too slow paced, story wasnt interesting enough for me and I feel unsatisfied with how things turned out I wanted more answers

Okay here it goes… it took me over 60% of the book to finally be intrigued with what was going on. I know, why didn’t I dnf? Well, bc I already made it that far so, might as well finish it.
For a book that is under 300 pages, I’m astounded at the lack of plot, lack of character development & lack of clarity. For most of this book, you’re going to wonder what the heck you’re reading because it just doesn’t make sense.
There’s a LOT of jumping around and random stories that are meant to build the characters, but just makes you wonder “why is this important?”.
Don’t get me wrong, I want to know what happened on the expedition, but MY GOSH, why did it take the last 15% of the book to tell me what was going on. For real, this book is a guessing game and still leaves you confused in the end.
Anywho, a 3 star rating is being overly generous.
