I think this would be my first read about pirates, and I am happy to say that it surpassed my expectations!

There's a properly built background for the main characters, while also leaving enough mystery for the readers to look forward to the next book (e.g. Will's time at the Baroness, Amaya's mother and grandmother, etc.). The plot was smoothly done as well, just enough action and breaks through interactions between the characters so that there's a bond formed between them and the readers. It doesn't feel like a read in preparation for the next one, so kudos for that 🫶

This book fed my hopeless romantic side with all the cutesy scenes with Liz and Wes 😩 It's giving 2000s romcom and I just ate it up no crumbs 🫶

The first part was borderline creepy and stalker-ish. The only difference from the actual thing is that the fmc likes what the guy was doing. I get that this is a short one, but I feel like this could've been better with a proper background and a few more chapters. Instead, it feels too rushed, and the reincarnation trope was used to remedy the insta-love/creepy vibe.

Yearning? Chasing? Right amount of action and stabbing? The only critique I can say about this is it's too short I need 30 more chapters of it 😔🫶
