Fast-paced lives. Crowded streets. Late nights. Ambition, longing, and messy, magnetic loveâall happening in real time.

A mixed bag: I was invested in the story and characters, and this was generally a fun read. I found a couple of things pretty predictable, but I prefer that to 'gotcha twists', because it shows the writing is consistent. There was a character that kinda seemed to be a very obvious stand-in for another character that died in a previous book, which took me out of the story a bit. I feel like the characterisation for the main male love interest was a little lacking. I was pretty sick of the love triangle at this point. I don't mind an open ending, but it fell a little flat for me
Everyone has raved about the prequel series, so I think I'll check that out. Overall this was a solid YA fantasy trilogy and I'm glad I read it.

Picked this up right after the first one, definitely enjoyed it more. I picked up the next book as soon as I finished this one.

Pretty fun, if not a little pacey. It definitely picked up in the last half though. Interested to see where this goes.

I love these characters, and it's so fun reading a book with an elaborate scheme that keeps you guessing.

This is an absolutely delightful story, and the audiobook is top-notch! My success with contemporary romance (particularly dual POV) has been very hit and miss lately, but this ticked all the right boxes:Â
I'll definitely be checking out more Beth O'leary soon! Â

The female main character is 6 FEET TALL!? In a contemporary romance!? This is deffo the first romance book (possibly any book?) Iâve read with a FMC who is the same height as me.

This has been on my wish list forever, but it went straight to the top when I found out the audiobook is narrated by Carrie Hope Fletcher! Also, Kwaku Fortune (voices the MMC) is great! I don't know what it is, but I love listening to books with an Irish narrator.

In celebration of â¨more statsâ¨, Iâm curious if thereâs anything in the new details that had any of you like

For me, it was the Superlatives for March. According to Most Anticipated, I had apparently had Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado in my library for 1400 days, aka almost 4 years, which yea, sounds about right. Worst is, the stats are still inaccurate (no fault to PB, just too new for my failures), cause The Night Circus, which I read same month, had def been waiting longer đ
