what is it about totalitarianism that want us all to be brothers and sisters? idk if it’s because i just read Persepolis but when they are describing the big brother and how it works it reminded me of when Marjane (the author of persepolis) returns to Iran and the police calls her sister and she has to call them brothers, is it because in theory or family will never hurt us so calling this “authority figures” by a family name make us more comfortable around them? i’m curious about that!
