currently in the mood for romance. my first bk borison!!! im not usually a fan of friends to lovers but i like this so far. tbh tho while i do have tropes i like or dislike i dont let them define a book for me or be so important that they can singularly affect whether or not ill read sth. also my enjoyment of tropes relies completely on the actual context of the plot. anyway i was so surprised when i saw i was alr 24% thru after only one short sitting bc it feels like the story has barely started

While I overall enjoyed RWRB, a LOT, the level of unbelievability was pretty high, even for me (and with romcom tropes in mind). I feel like it could’ve been balanced a bit better between the wish-fulfillment and realism, but thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue and characters.

Jean needs all the cuddles
I’ve been desperately waiting for this book, and it did not disappoint. There are no words to explain my obsession with this series. No proper way to show how it has slithered under my skin and made a home in my heart. I loved these characters so so much!!
This book definitely broke me a few times. I had to stop reading because I was crying so much. Jean is such a beautifully tragic character. I wanted to wrap him up and tell him it would be okay so many times. He made so many breakthroughs during this. Painful breakthroughs, but necessary ones. And I’m incredibly proud of him.
Jeremy, the ray of sunshine, is such a wonderfully complex character. Getting this deep dive into his past and his present has made me both happy and heartbroken. Sunshine doesn’t last all day, and it is often covered with clouds. We saw that in the Golden Raven. The struggles he faces to keep shining brightly.
The tension between Jeremy and Jean is wonderfully crafted. These little moments that speak volumes. I’m so ready to see that tension finally snap.
And you can’t talk about this series without bringing up the side characters, in particular the teammates. The Trojans are such a wonderful and supportive bunch, just like the Foxes. Even with the bumps in the road, looking at you Lucas, that they’ve ran into, the support they’ve shown Jean is so beautiful. Especially Laila and Cat. They’ve practically adopted Jean, and it’s so great to see. The found family aspect in this series is probably my favorite thing about it.
