I loved the idea of a punk/goth emo vampire who wants to die, but can't! However, this was more of a whiny wannabe cool girl emo whining on about how much living forever sucks and on and on about a crush on a dude.
Aubrey was annoying as fuck and unlikable, but even I could not root for her because she may be a vampire but she was incredibly boring. Like Colin Robinson but female and rambling more

"Sometimes the only silver bullet is a teenage girl who's had enough."
Girls, gore, and guts! A collection of slasher ish stories surrounding the theme of experience of girlhood. Super fun.

Rage reading is what this is. Lost Lambs tries really hard to be a book for cool girls, but the countless bits of racism and rude remarks about disabilities were too blatant to ignore. The racist jokes didn't add anything to the story.
And of course the rich old dude is a creep. And of course the answer to everything is money.
Not for me. If you loved Big Swiss and didn't mind that book's racism then you'll like this

This is the horniest book I've ever read!
Death can fuck with your emotions and make you do crazy things, so when Arvy's mom dies and leaves her accidentally in possession of a ton of sexy pills Arvy decides she doesn't want the scary drug dealer to kill her and do she's gonna sell the Monas. But also she has to try them first and man, she's horny enough before because this other random drug dealer with sexy hands. Oh and she carries her dead mom's ashes around with her and she's trying to get finals done so she graduate college.
This book was wild and mysterious and funny and sad. I loved it but I also feel like it was missing a lil something to get the reader to connect more with Arvy. Like, who is she?!!

Started off slow and confusing and then got intense fast, but never felt totally believable to me.

Oomph! This House Will Feed was a beautifully written gut-wrenching gothic set in 1840's Ireland during the Great Hunger/ Potato Famine. I'm Irish and had no idea this was as truly terrible as it was and this book really opened my eyes! The characters felt real to me, the ghosts felt real and the grief was definitely real.
I appreciated the ending.

I love T Kingfisher so much! Her style of writing is so unique! I always learn something new reading her books, am always horrified and also delighted! I also really appreciate her ability to have opposite sexes be friends without sex. And I love how all of her books feature delightful cats or dogs! Truly I can't sing her praises enough!
Wolf Worm was historical and fascinating! I throughly enjoyed reading about Sonia Wilson and her career as a naturalist and illustrator. The creepy factor being bugs was absolutely disgusting to me and then became horrifying as I realized botflies are really a thing and so are screwflies! The second scary twist was nothing compared to those bugs! Here's one of my favorite quotes to give you a taste of this humor and horror:
"Jesus, Mary and Joseph, maybe he was committing some kind of unnatural sex acts with the chickens. No, no. He wouldn't have had time."
That's Sonia after trying to figure out why her employer is stealing away his own chickens into a secret shed in his yard. She goes on to decide "if we've ruled out sex and science, what else is there?" And that is the mystery!
Wolf Worm is out this Spring and it's a fantastic book so you ought to pick it up!

I love a good revenge story and this is one! It's also enemies to lovers, which is so fun. I devoured this book and man, I really want it to become a show or movie because it's just perfection! Hockey and murder and true love?! While being sarcastic and hilarious?! Five stars!
