“I want to face my fears for you. Will you let me try?”
ms elsie has done it again folks!
if there’s one thing that elsie silver knows how to do, it’s write (male ahem) characters that are so down bad for each other. The banter and flirting in this was so good but I wasn’t so happy about them having to pretend for so long.
the bits with their families were so endearing! The theowinter crumbs!! possible next book about parker and maxwell? mayhaps? And oma and opa were such cuties, LOL. Can you tell that i’m already in love with the family
was this as good as her other books? not to me, it felt like something was missing but hey, I still ate this up!

“Like sunlight, love finds its way in through the cracks regardless. Might as well open the door.”
oh wow oh wow oh wow
Let’s just say I ate this up and am currently feral. This book had me giggling and kicking my feet, shedding a few tears here and there too, I just ahhh! This book is truly romcom personified!
The humour, the banter, the friendships, the romance, the yEARNING!! It’s crazy good, you best believe I will be thinking about this book for a while. This is one of those books where you can’t stop reading it but at the same time you don’t want it to end.
Love love love! (Also I fear I may be Ava Monroe, the similarities are truly uncanny.)

This was so reminiscent of How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days! Falling for the guy you’re trying to set your sister up with? This is definitely one for the rom com lovers!! It was entertaining, chaotic, I laughed out loud a few times reading this and their banter was definitely fun to read.
That said, the whole lead up to the big moment did feel a little underwhelming for me, it didn’t really hit like I wanted it to. But I loved the diversity in this book and the family dynamics and the emotional undercurrent of it all.

“What makes you so sure we’d know each other in another life?” “Because I can’t imagine any life without you there to drive me completely insane.”
I’m a little surprised that I enjoyed this more than I expected to! after the previous book, I was ready to let this series go but I’m glad I stuck around (spoiler: there’s a “what letter?” scene that had me giggling for a bit)
It was definitely a fun read and their frenenemies to lovers banter was cute and I’m not going to disagree that all the men from this series have started to blur together, they have, but the yearning in this book definitely stood out compared to the others. Sebastian!! Definitely made it to my top 3 Ana Huang men. And I loved that we got to see a more vulnerable, not-put-together side of him that we don’t usually see with Ana’s men.
If you’re looking for a man who yearns, you got it. Everything else was just a fun time!
—— (As a desi girl myself, a lil disappointed at how whitewashed Maya was and I almost threw up when she had dosas, eggs and strawberry for breakfast because what do you mean????)
