Hello!! I’m Rachel from Wisconsin, and I’m 23 years old. I am also a huge introvert, and it's been so nice to read everyone’s responses. It has made me feel less alone.🥰🥹 My favorite genres are romance and fantasy. I’ve recently been trying to get into mystery/thriller, so if you have any recommendations, I'd really appreciate them. I have recently found out that I love romance books with a hint of mystery or mystery with romance. I’ve also realized I love small-town/cowboy romances, so I’ll be reading more of those in the future.

My favorite books are In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde and Love, Theoretically and Deep End by Ali Hazelwood. My two favorite series are the Windy City series by Liz Tomforde and the An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir, both of which have broken my heart on several occasions.

Between cats and dogs, I’m a dog person. But I really don’t like either; no specific reason, just don’t really like them. The exception is the golden retriever. We had one when I was little his name was Tiger, and he was the friendliest guy you’d ever meet.🦮🥰

Now, outside of reading, I don’t have too many hobbies, but I rewatch movies and shows like it’s going out of style.😂 I just finished watching The Golden Girls for the first time, and I’m already rewatching it. Now my other favorite shows include The Pitt, The Lincoln Lawyer, Off Campus, Heated Rivalry, Ransom Canyon, and Ginny and Georgia. I also recently got a DVD player, so I’m rewatching a lot of old favorites and watching new-to-me movies (thank you to my library🥰). My favorite movies are (citing my Letterboxd top 4): Remember the Titans, Pretty Woman (just watched this for the first time 🩷), Twisters, and 27 Dresses. Honorable mentions to Sweet Home Alabama and The Intern. I’m also a big Christmas movie lover: How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Home Alone 1 & 2 (the other ones that don’t exist to me 😂).

When I’m not doing any of those things, I’m watching sports, with football and baseball being my favorites. Being from Wisconsin, I am a Brewers and Packers fan (yes, I’m used to the heartbreak at this point😂😭). Football season is starting back up again, so someone may want to check in on me mentally in October or November.😂 I’m such a big sports fan; I hope to work in sports one day, hopefully in marketing 🤞🏻. I’m also currently working on my Master's in Marketing, and I’m dreading the start of the fall semester (the summer break has been glorious😂).

You will also catch me at my local library at least twice a week. I’m either picking up my copious amounts of holds, or I’m just browsing. I’ve found so many good books and movies I’d never heard of, and I’ve found some movies I’ve been meaning to watch. So a HUGE thanks to my local library! 💕

  • Getting to know each other ✨

I've been thinking about this for quite some time and I'm really trying to bond more with others, but I've been having a bit of a hard time with it tbh. I'm a very reserved person in general and it takes me a while to really open up to others (and I'm anxious to post this but here I go lol).

so with this I'm trying to shout into the void for others to introduce themselves! I really want to make more friends on here and would love to get to know more of you and maybe some of you can find folks with the same interests too ❤️

what I especially would like to know about you 🫵:

📚what are your favourite books and why? 😺cats or dogs? (or neither?👀)

As for me, I'm jessie from germany and I'd say I read a broad range of genres, my favourite being fantasy! I'm currently getting into robin hobbs realm of the elderlings and am impatiently waiting for dead beat by leigh bardugo to come out. Also I'm trying to get more into horror, so I'd be happy if any of you had a suggestions for me! I have japanese gothic and the eyes are the best part available rn 👀

My favourite books of all time are probably the inheritance cycle aka eragon and the mediator by meg cabot, which are both most likely very based on nostalgia but I think about them regularly lol. I also really, really love anything miss bardugo writes, but I do love six of crows and ninth house the most 🐍🐇 AND!! honorable mention to the familiar which I liked a lot too!

Apart from books I'm an avid gaming, movie and tv series enjoyer! I love anything horror like resident evil, but here I enjoy many different genres. I most recently saw the new spider-man and obsession which were both absolutely breathtaking in different ways iykyk. Next week I'm going to go watch the new insidious movie!
