this book is stunning, heartbreaking, and irrevocably moving. for me, agnes is what makes this book so breathtaking, and i commend maggie o’farrell every step of the way for the brilliance of her and the care and reverence she holds agnes with. i will choke up and cry if i say anything else other than yeah. you just have to experience it.

i fear i have not read hamlet, so many references in this book might go over my head as i read. but out of curiosity (and especially w the current press as hamnet goes on its award season run) does anybody know how much of this (if any of it) is based off or inspired by the story of play/shakespeare/the true story behind the play? i assume that many details and conversations are fictitious but i would be so curious to know if there’s a an element of truth to any of the story’s details
