Alix E. Harrow
Alix E. Harrow has a way with words and her short stories are done splendidly. This is an absolute favourite of mine. It made me so emotional as I read it on a plane. I think it's best to go into this blindly and just let it happen to you.

This was my top book last year, such a well-written short story
