Thank you to NetGalley and Bindery Books for an ARC of this book. All thoughts and feelings are my own.
3.75 stars (rounding up to 4)
Lucy McQuinn is dead and full of vengeance. When her soul possesses a doll, she is determined to go after her killer Chucky style. This book was a roller coaster of emotions for me. I felt the grief and anger that Lucy felt. Reading her experience of death from a first-person POV made me feel so sad for her. I loved her relationship with Nic; I think that was the highlight of the book for me. I found the ending quite satisfactory. My only issue with the book was the pacing. It really dragged until around 20%, but the rest of the story made it worth struggling through the beginning. I went in expecting a funny, murder-doll horror and was pleasantly surprised to see that it also contained an exploration of trauma and friendships.
P. S. nice book club questions đ
TW: murder, grief, SA, domestic violence, suicidal thoughts

I'm a huge fan of Aurora's songs and often when I listen to them I have this strong craving to READ them. Her imagery is so vivid and her siren voice makes them 10/10 experience. Here are some of the songs that I'm currently seeking to experience as a book:
But honestly, any of her songs as an inspiration would be great, I love them all. Does anyone have any recs? âşď¸

HEYY! Let me ask you, do you always read one book and that book only at a time, or multiple (like me)? Even if I tried, I really just can't stick to only one reading option. I tend to have a few books of different genres in my "currently reading" pile at once (3-5) and that keeps me motivated and consistent, because I can just pick up the book I'm the most in the mood for. Though I haven't met or seen that many other people like this, I've even had friends say that they cannot do that because they would lose focus, but for me it's just so natural, like doing multiple projects at once (sure it takes way longer to finish them all haha). I don't really have a problem with this habit of mine, I just wonder if there's people like me out there!
