I'm not actually a big fan of enemies to lovers trope (tho it's actually academic rivals to lovers), but I love this one! And to my surprise, I find Sadie a little bit too relatable. She’s smart, kind of intense, always trying to prove herself—and lowkey spiraling most of the time (in a very “me” way). I didn’t expect to see so much of myself in her, but here we are... I guess? :-) What I really liked is that the whole rivals-to-something-more thing didn’t feel forced. Sadie and Julius have history, and it shows. I love the way they're obsessed with each other T____T And watching them slowly let their guards down was so satisfying. You're such a simp, Julius :3 I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but it’s definitely one of those books that stick with you longer. Definitely one of my favorite surprises of the year :]

An easy 5 stars from me! What a reading experience. It feels so seamless it didn’t feel like I was going through 500± pages. Gaya berceritanya Dee Lestari sama apiknya kayak karya-karyanya yang lain and it almost feels like I could smell every word, every phrase, every sentence from its pages. Singkatnya, novel ini KEREN BANGET YA TUHAN BAGUS SEKALI AGH aku butuh tahu lebih banyak tentang Jati-Suma di akhir INI GIMANA LANJUTNYA (the way Jati narrates his feelings towards Suma and Puspa Karsa! AGH. All is fair in love and war indeed) My best read of this year so far <3
