Auch ich bin - mal wieder - wütend jetzt. Cool, cool, cool.

So cute and wholesome. I was giggling and kicking my feet throughout.
To be honest: The conflict that gets the book going is a bit far-fetched and there are a lot of plotlines going on that don't really get the depth they deserve in theory. But if you're here for a silly little good time this is perfect. Loved both the main characters and their relationship.

RIP Emily Dickinson you would have hated ChatGPT.
This was my first encounter with Emily Dickinsons work and I'm not super big into poetry. I really struggled to get into the poems as a non native speaker first. Around halfway through I just decided to let the language wash over me and had a substancially better time haha.
I really liked that the book had a short introduction explaining Emilys life and a few analyses of some of the poems as well. Also the categorization in four topics really helped to make sense of it. For me, as a total beginner, it could have had even more analyses and explanations. But other than that it was a nice introduction to the world of Emily Dickinson.

Ugh, the blurb of this book sounded so good. A good art x science/science fiction crossover always gets me hyped up. Also the few but very, very enthusiastic reviews on other platforms.
I still think the overall idea and storyline is great and exciting, but the execution and the writing style definetly wasn't for me. I really struggled to get through it and even thought about DNFing a few times. Most times I just didn't know what the heck was going on. It gets clearer in the second half, but by then I just wanted to get through and only flipped through most of the pages. There's also a lot of repetition and the plot is moving very very slow. The writing style is described as poetic, but most of the time I found it too over the top and a little pretentious.
It's described as a mind-bending novel and well, maybe it's a me problem. Maybe my mind is not bendable enough, but I couldn't get into it. I get that it's declared to be similar to 'How To Lose The Time War', and I loved that one, but somehow it doesn't do the same for me. But maybe for others it will!
I also hate that we live in times where I have to wonder how much of this book might be AI, just because the pattern 'not x, but y' is used so inflationary in this book.
