This felt like the most delightful sapphic gothic fever dream.
I really wish I could forget everything I read and just read it all over again for the first time. The poetic writing style, the gothic ambiance, the forbidden sexual tension… everything was just perfect.
Also, I love how this was written as a terrifying horror story but we now read it almost like lesbian fanfic lmao. Let’s go lesbian vampires!!!!!! ✊🏻🏳️🌈

This writing style is absolutely gorgeous... maybe I need to read more gothic literature? (the answer is: yes)

So excited to finally read Carmilla! Sapphic vampires… I hope it is as good as it sounds!

This is one of those books everyone should read at least once in their lifetime. It is such a beautifully written and powerful story fueled by trans rage that portrays some of the darkest chapters in Madrid's recent history, while showing the truth of growing up trans in a society where trans people are condemned to social ostracism.
