Post from the I Who Have Never Known Men forum
I read this book about two ir three years ago, and I felt like I went in with the wrong expectations. I really enjoyed it, and I thought the writing was beautiful, but I did not feel nearly as connected to the book as many others have shared feeling recently (in regards to it’s major success). Part of me feels like I should go back and reread it, because of everyone else’s hype, but I’m scared of being even more confused. I liked the book, but it in no way “wrecked me.”

I’m curious to know how other fellow atheist/agnostic people feel about the biblical and religious references in this book. It throws me off a bit 🫤
