Does anyone else have this insane urge to read while at work and then as soon as you get home it's gone? Every now and then i'll get this insane urge to read at work where i'll be actively planing out my reading time for when i get home, going through my tbr and genuinely feel so giddy and excited for my booooks...and then i get home and the excitement is gone? Is this just part of the slump? Does this happen to anyone else? Like you fantasize about reading while stuck at work and as soon as you have actual time to read you do something else instead?

A fantasy universe created by Sir Terry Pratchett, Discworld is a flat planet balanced on the backs of four elephants, which in turn stand on the back of a giant turtle. These are comedic novels that parody traditional fantasy tropes. All books can be read as standalones.

I keep thinking I have a system for my reading life.
Like Iām in control. Like thereās a plan. Like my TBR is something I can actually manage instead of something quietly plotting against me.
But at this point, I think Iāve been demoted from āreaderā to āqueue manager with unstable feelings.ā
Because hereās whatās happening right now:
I just started the final book in a trilogy, which should mean focus, emotional endurance, and a respectful amount of suffering in a controlled direction. And I have 3 library holds that all decided to show up at the same time, plus a book club read. š©
Iām in full blown

And the funny part is I still act like Iām going to āget through the listā someday, but the list is not stable. It multiplies. It shifts. It regenerates when Iām not looking. Itās like magic.
The real issue is that I have too many books that all feel slightly urgent at the same time. Like everything is saying āread me nextā with varying levels of emotional manipulation. Stop being pick meās damn it!!
So I guess Iām wondering: does anyone actually solve the queue problem⦠or do we all just live here now, constantly negotiating with ourselves while three different stories are open in our brains at once?
Commiserate with me on my favorite problem to have!!
