What an icky disappointment, especially after such an interesting preface. I wanted to read this for its historical importance but the sexism and racism are intolerable. And how can a book about ecoterrorists be this BORING??

āSometimes I heard my mother crying, my father scolding her to stop. But I thought it lucky, the clarity of tears. Instead of the loose riot of confusion and dread webbed up in my chest, in my head, probably wearing lesions into my gut and brain.ā
This book is so beautiful. Every paragraph is worthy of a highlight.

How short would you consider too short to log as a "book" you read?
My logic is that if it's available on this app (or any other) as a book, then it's a book but I also low key feel a little bit like I'm cheating when I count a tiny ass novella towards my overall reading goal for the year.
Some people are out here reading 100 books a year, that are 300-500 pages. And I've read 20 books so far in January but quite a few are novellas... one of them was 8 pages lololol.
Where do you draw the line?

To explain, I absolutely love this community and all the different ways we can share and come together. This is a fabulous place to be a reader.
But with every notification I receive, there is a feral little goblin inside of my brain that goes š¹ YES! POINTS š¹
Do I love your little upvote of validation on a comment Iāve made? Of course I do! To debate and argue with you all? More than Iāve loved any job Iāve ever had. The camaraderie of coming together and sharing our thoughts on mutual books is keeping me reading.
š¹ BUT ALSO, POINTS š¹
