“Piranesi lived among statues: silent presences that brought him comfort and enlightenment.” I truly enjoyed this novel. In the beginning it was quite confusing tbh but as the book went on the pieces of the puzzle(or torn paper ifykyk) formed leaving us with a highly unexpected ending especially from what I was expecting going into it.
“The Beauty of the House is immeasurable; its Kindness infinite.” That quote really holds true as the House made this novel unforgettable; from tides being able to climb stairs to a House with its own weather patterns and infinite number of rooms, creating a world unlike anything else I have ever seen.
I doubted the Other from the very beginning and when it was revealed he was Piranesi’s kidnapper it all made sense; the erratic behaviour all the stuff the “House ” gave him… he was not make sure. Piranesi’s nobility and unwillingness to kill, really struck me as a showing of rare nobility and humility in literature these days. This is one of my favourites and definitely the most unique fantasy I have ever read, and will definitely be one I reread!
