Would it be a good idea to read a book written fully in German with no knowledge of this language at all? There is a book series that is really dear to me, which two first volumes I've read in its original language – russian, unfortunately last volume was published only in German. As for now at least, hopefully it won't be the only possible languge to read it in. I know this series won't be translated into my 2nd language, because when 1st book was published not many copies were sold, no idea about how translation will go to English though. I've tried looking for russian translation of the book, but there is no official one(again due to the laws in Russia), only amateur ones that, as I've read are not the best. Now I am stuck between reading it in its original version, while having 0 experience with German language at all, or waiting for proper translation till no idea when. Never ever such thought had to cross my mind until today, but here we are i guess and i have no idea what to do with it.
