I was not expecting to like this so much 🥺 this person is a great story teller and this has been my “go outside and touch some grass” book. No smut (lowkey thankfully, I’ve been reading a lot of low quality smut slop based on tropes) and it’s nice to have the main characters not fall in love halfway through the book.

I’m listening as an audiobook and they’ve mentioned SO many names I’m lost 😫 do I need to know everyone? Should I stop now and just read as a physical book? I’m used to annotating and writing down characters😳

I listened to this as an audiobook and that is why I had such a bad time. Things would probably different if I tried it as a physical book. I don’t usually like audiobooks as I get cringed out really easily but I’m in a mood currently and have been devouring them. All that being said, one of the voice actors sounds young and maybe new to voice acting? His diction, the overall sound quality of where he was recording, it was all very different and distinctive from the other actors. (He had a big chunk of talking and it was like nails on a chalkboard for me) But not even just him. All of the men sounded like they were physically in different places and it was not at all a cohesive performance. It was extremely distracting to the point it was so hard to listen to I couldn’t move further into the book.

I liked the ending but in general wasn’t extremely entertained by the book. Was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t an insta love book or even a insta fuck situation with the way she was describing all the men. Probably won’t read the next book.

DNF at 53%. BEWARE TWs
Lots of TW, especially (g)rape and slavery. What’s with the (g)rape fetish-y books lately?
Besides that, there’s also no excuse for being a flesh and/or slave trader. I kinda enjoyed the first thirtyish percent of this book but just kept going downhill. Very disappointed. I was trying to hold out to see why the FMC was kidnapped and from whom but it’s just not worth it.

I’m tired of these new rapist MMCs to make them morally black.

DNF @ 50% because now she's just collecting guys to collect them. I need a chase or a reason for characters to be together and I no longer care about anyone. The sex scenes were also starting to get repetitive. LOVED the first book though. Her stalker was also stressing me out I know that's the point but I figured out who it was and their dads were so horrible, just too much bad with not enough pay off.
