This book has saved me from a reading slump all on its own. Oh my god easily the best thing i’ve read in 2025 so far
I need the next book yesterday.

Objectively this is a decent book (hence 3 stars). Personally though? I hated every second and I was so bored. I just wasn't able to connect to any of the characters or the plot and I just straight up did not care to even try and solve the mystery plot before the reveal. But that is on me, I just do not like mysteries AT ALL. (read for a Goodreads challenge)

objectively the writing in this book is phenomenal. the humour is a little silly and witty all at once and while some of the descriptions are oddly specific they make for incredible characters.
the book/plot was just not my overall vibe (it was an assigned uni reading) so I think I'm pretty unlikely to continue with the series despite my enjoyment

Clearly this is author self-insert fan fic with a real historical figure but I did really enjoy it. Shout out to my colleague for lending me his copy because I probably wouldn't have picked it up otherwise

omg i did not expect to love this nearly as much as i did. I thought I wouldn't see past this first book (prescribed uni reading) but I'm definitely going to have to pick up the rest of the series

It's no surprise, nearly every child-star to ever come out has a never ending carousel of horror stories to share about their experiences growing up in the limelight but something about Jennette's experience hit so much deeper. I don't know if it was because I was such a big iCarly fan but my heart hurts from hearing first hand her experience growing up in the limelight, a place she never wanted to be in the first place. I hope writing this memoir was able to help her find some peace with the things she had to handle growing up.
