Hi!

I will start my internship in Malaysia (KL or KK, not 100% sure yet) in March 2027. I am from Switzerland. I want to learn basic Malay until then and immerse myself somewhat in the culture before my internship. In my experience, I can actually get more out of the experience when I prepare for it.

So @Malaysians (and people that have traveled there before): What are some of your favourite Malay books (also music, shows/movies etc)? Preferably books that have been translated to English so I can also parallel-read. Also perhaps books like "Taipei Story" by R.F. Kuang but specific for Malaysia?
