I LOVED this! To be perfectly honest, I've been in a little bit of a reading slump, but A Thousand Monstrous Forms sparked 👏🏻 joy 👏🏻
This was a very clever retelling that improved upon the original story and laced every scene with a very cool modern gothic ambience 🤌🏻✨
Thank you Saratoga Schaefer and NetGalley for the eARC!

William Friend really said "oh, you want to explore some buried grief" 🫠 This was beautifully composed and traumatic in a good way! The first 60 pages were slow but WORTH IT for the lore dropping, and once the plot started picking up it snowballed into something spectacular.
If And the Sea Gave Up the Dead is anything to go off of, I'm very excited to pick up Let Him In next!

This was so creepy and so well-written!
I definitely recommend The Turn to fans of Tantrum, Nestlings, and Rosemary's Baby, with Gothic elements reminiscent of Daphne du Maurier.
Baxter is a flawed but compelling protagonist that I found myself rooting for wholeheartedly. The pacing fits the story, and makes for an eerie one-sitting read, perfect for foggy mornings with a cuppa.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC!

Back for Blood is right! Not to be bold and controversial, but I liked this volume even more than the first one 🫣
I wanted to try to pick a favorite short story to highlight, but this collection is just banger after banger. Miss Cherokee Princess 1996 knocked my socks off right out of the gate, and Animal Dumb swiftly broke my heart right after.
Thank you NetGalley for my eARC!

This was my first Chuck Tingle novel, and if this quality is what I can expect from the rest of his work, I might just have to dive into his whole catalogue this weekend!
Fabulous Bodies was charming, disgusting, hilarious, and heart-wrenching - you will laugh, cry, gag, and love it! I would definitely recommend this to fans of Rachel Harrison and CJ Leede.

So I finished my eARC of Nightjars this morning and I am NOT OKAY 😭😭😭
I tried to go into this with as little information as possible and it paid off big time - and now I feel like a loon looking up all of this information on nightjars because EVERYTHING was so well thought out!!! 🤌🏻 I'm pre-ordering this immediately so that I can go back to highlight and notate everything I missed on my first read through!
Without giving too much away, this book was a MASTERCLASS on unreliable narrators, the twists were INCREDIBLE, and this was just such a unique and compelling read! 🩸

This was an absolute MASTERCLASS on building suspense and creating an ambience of dread. I haven't felt as genuinely spooked while reading since Incidents Around the House and 8114.
Trad Wife is a compelling commentary on the current social media climate that integrates some seriously creepy folklore. Somebody give Sarah Langan another Stoker award, quick 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

A couple of years ago, my spouse and I wandered into our local indie comic shop and I was FASCINATED by Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees - it still has a place of pride on our bookshelf - so you can imagine my excitement when @netgalley had Rite of Spring!
Following the ending of Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, Samantha Strong (our favorite hardware store-owning bear) is still doing her thing, but several years later, a stranger comes to town looking for answers about her missing brother's presumed death.
The ending of this one was WILD! If you're into graphic novels and you don't mind gore, I ABSOLUTELY recommend Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring, and it hits shelves this July!! 🐻🥽🪚
