I loved this book but I do see why it’s not for everyone. It’s very atmospheric, it really makes you immersed in the scene (there’s some povs for the readers), it’s not the typical story where magic is a thing aside for a few people, the plot can be a little confusing since each chapter is a different month and year and sometimes you go back and forth in time, It’s very dense with plot and most of it get dumped to you in the last 200ish pages but I do love how I couldn’t figure out where it was going! I would have never predicted the ending and the characters were top notch. The slow burn is also not for everyone but I personally loved the love story! I wished it was at least a duology so I could have explored this world a little more but overall every time I was reading it I was hooked! Loved it!

This book was a ride in the best way possible! 10 people accused of murder get invited on an island and slowly get murdered one by one but…is the killer someone on the island or is one of them? Couldn’t figure out who it was until it was revealed and I ended up being sus of 3 people while trying to solve it before the book was over!! I loved how you couldn’t trust anyone in the story because in the end all of them were unreliable narrators! I liked how it wasn’t the classic “detective story”! Defined became one of my favourite books ✨
